About West End Academy
Building Bright Futures
West End Academy (WEA) is a non-profit organization and private school serving children of all ages in Knoxville, TN. From 6 weeks-12th grade. Our school’s purpose is to change educational outcomes. We have learned that education is not a one-size-fits-all approach. We strive to teach children not only for today, but to give them hope for a future. We have learned that all children need one thing, a chance. A chance to grow and thrive.
At West End Academy, students receive so much more than an ordinary education. We pride ourselves on creating a unique, individualized approach to each individual student that embraces all types of learners and promotes growth both academically and personally. Students and families are also welcomed into a dynamic and supportive community.

Appreciating Yesterday to Value Tomorrow
West End Academy was founded in July, 1971, as a tutorial service for elementary and high school students. The day school, as it currently exists, began in 1975 and has continued to serve the greater Knoxville area helping hundreds of students escape from what was potential education disaster and to reclaim their education and self-esteem.
Our preschool was started in 2004 to further our reach to all youth of Knoxville.
West End Academy is an established 501(c) (3) non-profit, private school approved by the State of Tennessee and governed by a voluntary Board of Directors. West End Academy receives no funding from local, state, or federal tax revenues, and is dependent upon private grants, individual donations, and tuition.
